William Bouguereau (French, 1825-1905), Portrait of Charles Garnier, Rome, 1853. Oil on canvas.

Charles Garnier. As in, the architect of the Palais Garnier opera house in Paris, France. As in, the setting of The Phantom of the Opera. Painted by one of my great Victorian art heroes. Perfection.

Whoa! I had no idea that Bouguereau painted Garnier! Oh, my gosh! Bouguereau is one of my favorite artists, and Charles Garnier is, you know…Charles freaking Garnier. So this is seriously the post of the week, in my opinion.

Oh…. well… huh…

Erik, go home, you’re drunk.

(Whoever made this video, on the off-chance that you’re reading this, I love you so much right now.)

saw LM in Troyes

Finally saw LM in where it happened. And I finally realise where Javert was in Stars (why I didn’t find out when I knew that’s only two streets from the Notre Dame during the Paris trip last week:|!)

Yup, the pronunciation of PHANTOM means RICE BUCKET in Chinese…. Try asking for PHANTOM when you visit a Chinese Resatrant! Or simply for PHAN (means RICE)! LOL#truestory
